| PATIENT’S CHARTER OF RIGHTS IN BANGLADESH |
|
1. Right to choose any (trained/qualified) health care and/or family planning service provider trained under any government-recognized health care systems
i.e. allopathic, ayurvedic/unani or homeopathy.
|
|
2. Right of access to any recognized health-care or family planning service provider/clinic/dispensary/surgery/hospital or health facility.
|
|
3. Right to be seen by a competent health care or family planning service provider within a reasonable period of time or without undue delay in an emergency.
|
|
4. Right to be treated in a dignified manner and examined in privacy in a clean environment by a health care or family planning service provider.
|
|
5. Right to receive appropriate advice, irrespective of his/her ability to make payment for services provided.
|
|
6. Right to receive an explanation on any illness(es) symptoms and their likely causes and/or to be told of the possible diagnosis, as and when appropriate.
|
|
7. Right to receive professionally appropriate advice and/or treatment for the illness (es) or symptoms as well as their mode of administration, and side effects, if any.
|
|
8.Right to be told of choices of family planning methods available, cost and appropriateness for the client, and side effects, if any, as well as ensuring the continuity of supplies.
|
|
9. Right to receive advice as to the necessity and/or timing of return visit(s) and/or referral to specialized facilities.
|
|
10.Right of access to their own medical records, health records which must be kept confidential by the health care provider.
|
|
11.Right to complain for unsatisfactory services or unacceptable behavior shown towards the clients by the health care or family planning service provider to appropriate authorities and obtain speedy redress
